Ragi is finger milet. Its been included in Indian diet since ages. Previously thought to be a diet of poor has recently gained popularity as a food of health and diet conscious. As a diet rich in iron ,calcium , protein nd other micronutients , is being advised to be included in everyday meal. It is generally had as a porridge mixed with buttermilk /curd nd salt or with milk nd sugar.Many variants are made using rice/ ground wheat which can replace rice or roti. A sweet dish is made which is extremely popular in south India using jaggery and ghee. These days many high end restaurants have included ragi dosa nd ragi idli in their menu fr their health conscious.
