Learn how to make an authentic Swiss Cheese Fondue with my family's recipe, from scratch! Since some people asked, NO this is not an instant fondue mix!! Here in Switzerland, you can go into any cheese store and ask for a moité-moité fondue, and they will automatically just grate the cheese for you and put it in a bag. This is just the pure cheese, which is why I have to add all the other ingredients. The mix in here is half Gruyeres, half Vacherin cheese which is the classic mix. In an instant fondue mix, you just basically heat up the bag as everything is already inside, sometimes even pre-melted - in short: disgusting!! Rest assured this is a very typical recipe, pretty much everyone I know in Switzerland makes some kind of a variation of this recipe! A similar recipe is even printed on the fondue bags when you buy it at a cheese store in Switzerland. Regarding wine, there is no reason to substitute. Alcohol evaporates at high temperatures, so if you're worried about that, just cook it a bit longer before enjoying. There is no substituting for the taste of the white wine and really no reason to do so. Trust me, no child is going to get drunk on this fondue! :) Ingredients for 2 people: 400g cheese (classic is half Gruyere, half Vacherin cheese) 1 clove garlic 150ml white wine 2 teaspoons corn starch 1-2 teaspoons Kirsch (cherry) or Pear schnapps 1 loaf of hearty country bread, cubed in bite-size pieces ("Ruchbrot" in Switzerland) dash of fresh nutmeg black pepper to taste Enjoy your authentic Swiss fondue!

Fondue is a traditional dish from the Alps where families eat from a communal pot, dipping bread or pretzels into cheese. It is a delicious meal allowing for families to bond over a shared meal. Micah shows how we make fondue using Jarlsberg and Gruyere cheese in a double pot. Using the double pot keeps you from burning the cheese to the bottom and allows you to get the warm creamy cheese mixture.

In a small pot add your white wine and simmer on med low heat. Once it's hot, add in your flour and whisk it until it's dissolved and no lumps remain. Now, add your shredded cheeses one handful at a time. Then turn your burner down to low because you're looking for a slow and even melt. You don't want to burn or boil. Once it's melted, stir in your salt and nutmeg and then transfer the cheese dip to your fondue pot! The trick to having an amazing fondue experience is having a variety of delicious things to dunk. Today, i'm using the typical bread cubes, but i'm also throwing in some roasted veggies like butternut squash and brussel sprouts. Some baby heirloom tomatoes for color, chicken & apple sausages, because you need to have some meat, and fruits that pair well with cheese like an apple! I like to arrange the food in pretty rows on a big platter next to the fondue pot. Music by Aaron Prim Thanks to J&G © 2014 Honeysuckle Catering. This video is a little embarrassing because any Swiss person will think we're nuts eating cheese fondue in 30 degree weather. It was supposed to be raining when we decided to have this meal but the weather prediction was wrong and we we were committed. :) We hope you enjoy and if you've never had Swiss fondue you've got to try it! Here's the recipe with everything you'll need to make it: - 1 garlic clove, halved - 1 pound Gruyère cheese, grated - 1/2 pound Vacherin cheese or other Swiss cheese, grated (in Switzerland you can buy bags of pre-shredded mixed cheese called "Moitié-moitié", meaning 'half and half'.) - 1 cup dry white wine - 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon cornstarch - 1 1/2 tablespoons kirsch - Freshly ground pepper, paprika and nutmeg P.S. Make sure to have Kirsch since this will bind the cheese together and if you want to cheat, you can always buy a Swiss made pre-mixed blend) If you have any question on how to make it, feel free to ask me in the comments below. Today on the Edgy Veg Candice is going to show you how to make Vegan Fondue. Now you too can host your very own fondue party. Get the full recipe: http://wp.me/p2x3lA-32k SUPPORT US ON PATREON: https://www.patreon.com/edgyveg SUBSCRIBE TO THE EDGY VEG HERE: http://bit.ly/1TZma0N Candice has perfecte the best vegan cheese fondue recipe and now she is going to share it with you. The base of your fondue is going to be potatoes and rice. Rice is the perfect ingredient for this recipe as it has a smooth, creamy consistency when blended. Your first step is to heat up some olive oil in a large pan, add onions and garlic to the pan and cook them until translucent. This will take roughly 3 minutes. Now you will add short grain white rice. Do not make the mistake of using brown rice, Candice makes it rather clear that this is a terrible idea that could ruin your recipe. Now add cashews, bouillon cubes, and potatoes. Cook this for 30 minutes, stirring to avoid sticking, until the potatoes are soft. Once your potato mixture is cooked put it into your blender and blend on high. After you have blended it well add tapioca starch, white wine vinegar, sauerkraut water, nutritional yeast, salt, miso paste, and finally mustard pepper. Again, you will want to blend all this together well. Light the Sterno burner under your Fondue pot and pour in your homemade vegan cheese. What's that? You don't have a fondue pot with a burner underneath it? What are you doing watching this video? Go out there and get yourself a fondue kit, and don't forget the fondue forks. Those are crucial. For those of you that came prepared let's continue. Light your fondue burner and pour in your cheese sauce, add 2 tbsp of kirsch schnapps and a half a cup of dry wine. Stir your fondue giving your new ingredients time to blend in. Now that you have created your fondue you are ready to have your first fondue party. There are a wide variety of things you can dip into your fondue. Some people prefer smaller pieces of bread. That is the traditional dipping food. You can also use Granny Smith apples as the flavor is complimentary to the cheese. You could go with mini roasted potatoes, and even mini roasted gerkens, or pickled onions. At the end of the day what you choose to dip in your fondue is completely up to you. Cauliflower or broccoli would also go well in this fondue creation. You can make your own fondue just like they do at the melting pot. This recipe contains cheddar cheese, beer, garlic and more. You can find the exact recipe and ingredients at http://www.copykat.com/2011/02/11/melting-pot-cheddar-cheese-fondue/ Hi. This is Stephanie Manley, with CopyKat.com. Today, it's time to whip out those old fondue pots because we're making Melting Pot Cheddar Cheese Fondue. Let's get started. We're going to begin making our fondue. We are going to start by adding our two types of cheeses in one bowl, and then I'm going to add a little bit of flour to this; this is going to help thicken up the fondue. You can just do this with your hands. Turn up my fondue pot to a medium-high heat. In our fondue pot we're going to take about 4 ounces of beer. Melting Pot actually uses Coors Light, so be sure to grab some Coors Light for this. To this, I am going to add a couple of tablespoons of garlic, because most everything's better with garlic. Some Worcestershire sauce. I'm going to add dry mustard to this. We're adding this so we can get all the flavor of mustard without all of the liquid. We're going to go ahead and give this a stir. It's starting to heat up, and the garlic is starting to cook. I just want to let the garlic cook for a moment or two before I actually add the cheese. This is cooking up just fine, and now I am adding cheese. We're just going to stir and let that all get nice and melt-y. It takes about 2 whole minutes to make fabulous fondue here. It's time to try this fondue. That is really good. I think it's time to put down the camera and enjoy fondue. We've just made Melting Pot's Cheddar Cheese fondue. You can transform yourself back to the '60s by enjoying this tasty treat. Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you can see what's cooking next. While you're at it, why don't you stop on by CopyKat.com? Hi. I'm Stephanie Manley. Have you ever wondered how your favorite restaurant makes that special dish? Add some SPICAYYY to your summer Juicy chicken wings with cheese OMG!🧀🍗 ▪ INGREDIENTS: Spicy Wings: 6 Chicken Wings, 2 Tbsp Sugar, 2 Tbsp Corn Syrup, 3 Tbsp Red Pepper Powder, 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce, 1 Tbsp Ground Onion, 2 Tbsp Hot Sauce, 2 Tbsp Red Pepper Paste, Pepper, 9 Tbsp Mirin Cheese Fondue: 75ml Milk, 100g Mozzarella Cheese, 1 Slice Sliced Cheese, 3 Tbsp Starch Water ▪ DIRECTIONS: 1. Add 6 Tbsp of Mirin to 6 chicken wings. Marinate for 20 minutes. Mirin contains 14% of alcohol which will get rid of meat smell. Natural amino acid will make the meat tender. 2. Mix 2 Tbsp sugar, 2 Tbsp corn syrup, 3 Tbsp red pepper powder, 1 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 Tbsp ground onion, 2 Tbsp hot sauce, 2 Tbsp red pepper paste, bit of pepper and 3 Tbsp of Mirin to make seasoning. Add savoriness to your seasoning by adding Mirin to the mix. It will also help the seasoning to soak into the ingredients. 3. Boil 75ml milk, 100g mozzarella cheese and a slice of sliced cheese. When the milk starts to boil, add 3 Tbsp starch water and boil a little longer. 4. Heat the pan and cook each side of chicken wing. (Press it with a tong so the meat could be cooked thoroughly.) 5. Spread seasoning on chicken wings and let it cook. ▼CHECK OUR SERIES :)▼ https://www.facebook.com/cookatTV/ We also have instagram account! Cheddar cheese Fondue mukbang made with medium Cheddar, mexican queso chihuahua, and a little Munster. I made my fondue a bit different as far as traditional choice of cheese. I used a variety of dipping choices. Broccoli, cherry tomatoes, potato, carrots, red bell pepper, green apple, and bread. I used Cuisinart Electric Fondue Maker. I imagine the fondue combo can be achieved using a crockpot.
