Gemma's Bigger Bolder Baking Ep 173
I have never baked cookies as long as what you do, where are you located that you have to bake them that long? I make all of these and only bake 10 to 12 minutes max and they would be too brown if I baked them any longer. I use a thermometer to test my oven often so I know it is actually 350 degrees.
Hey gemma can we use quick oats instead of rolled oats?
It is difficult to find rolled oats ib my country
So can you tell that if I can replace them with quick oats in this recipe and other recipes too ?
I've only made the banana ones so far, and I'm more than pleased with the results yielded. So yummy and a great fast snack to make. I'll definitely be making them more often, and experimenting with this base recipe. Baking on point, earned a sub!
Hi! Unfortunately, I'm not an expert on diabetic recipes so I can't advise. I have some lower sugar/lower carb recipes here but you'll have to consult another resource: https://www.biggerbolderbaking.com/guilt-free-desserts/
I tried the peanut butter cookies I was a little confused at first one my dough batter looked like that but after 15 minutes it's starting to look like the cookie I didn't put the design in there because I was too lazy but still came out good got my glass of milk
*Gemma Stafford:* Have you thought of using a pastry blender to mash up the banana? I find it goes faster. BTW, the cookies are NOT "gluten-free", unless you use oats that specifically say "gluten-free" on the package, because often, oats and wheat are processed near each other, which renders the oats NOT gluten-free. My daughter told me this after she was diagnosed with a sensitivity to gluten.
Hi Janis - you are absolutely correct about the gluten. Oats are gluten-free naturally but the contamination is what gives them that gluten. This recipe is essentially gluten-free otherwise with that in mind. :)
Cool, the peanut butter cookie is on the back of Kraft peanut butter..thought I recognized it. The problem with this recipe is that it is far too sweet, the first time I made it I liked it,the second time I made it I found it to be a waste of peanut butter, sugar and an egg.
The peanut butter cookie is amazing. I had tried it once and it turned out great. But this time when I tried the oil got separated. What went wrong and how can I save it? Can I use the better for any other cookie or its a waste now?
Hi Christine. Sponsors help us deliver free content to the community. Filming, editing, buying ingredients and equipment, testing new recipes, etc adds up to be quite an expense and I only partner with companies I am proud of. Without sponsors, we would struggle to continually bring free, quality content. Food for thought.
I tried making the coconut cookies today and they turned out amazing. I kept them in the oven a little longer so they became darker in colour and slightly caramelised too so i ditched the chocolate. Sure going to make these a lot more. Thanks!
Hi Michael! You can find the measurements on the recipe link in the description box and on BiggerBolderBaking.com. I don’t include measurements in my video as units change internationally and I’d like to avoid any confusion and exclusion. Plus, my website offers a better experience for reading recipes. 😊
Let me spare someone my error in making these-I used all natural stir in the oil peanut butter, it was so loose I couldn't make fork indentations into it. Second batch added a little almond flour and chilled with high hopes-=flat as a pancake. I have a feeling that most store bought lines of PB have stabilizers in them that help them keep some lift.
so i made the peanut butter cookies, they turned out way bigger than i expected but was very happy with the turnout and it tasted amazing, i even made myself put some up for later so i could have more. these cookies were big and bold! a tip my sister gave me was to dip the fork in milk before pressing down to make that traditional peanut butter cookie shape
Gemma, I don't know if you'll see this and respond, but I hope that you will. I would very much love to make the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, however, one of my children has a sensitivity (not quite allergy) to bananas, so I'd rather not use those. You said that the banana takes the place of egg and butter, however, if I wanted to use egg and butter instead of bananas, how many of each would I need? Thanks so much.
We JUST made the peanut butter cookies and are waiting for them to cool until we can eat them! :) Edit: they were amazing! Mine turned out a little crispy (probably didn't need that extra couple minutes I gave it) but still delicious. My younger son wants to do them again but mix in chocolate chips next time. :)
Those look great. I have to say, though, the chocolate doesn't dry. It's not wet. It's melted. As it cools, it hardens. People say that about melted wax, too. Wax also doesn't dry, but hardens.
Regardless, now I want to make all these cookies. Thanks for the great recipes!
A three ingredient cookie, which does not have flour, will need something to bind it. I think I would try this: 1/2 quantity of white sugar, 1/2 brown sugar. 1 cup of ap flour, and a teaspoon of baking powder. This is really off the top of my head, but it may work for you, I think it is worth a shot! :)
Tried all of these and they're all so lovely! I used more condensed milk as my dessicated coconut needed more. Combined brown and white sugar for the peanut butter cookies oh they are so delicious. Thanks Gemma!! It's so convenient to offer these to guests and they won't believe how easy they were to make! 😍🤗
