DUDE.......UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! I played with it a few times and here's what worked for me. I didn't have vinegar but a viewer said he used dill pickle juice, so why not. I soaked the slices in the pickle juice for 10+ minutes, film oiled my plate (some were sticking when I practiced), cooked for 4 min , flipped them over and put some black pepper on them and cooked till they browned (in my microwave it was about 4 minutes (add 30 sec if not brown enough). I WILL NEVER BUY POTATO CHIPS AGAIN!!! I started making noises like this guy when I was eating them!. I am going to get stupid with future recipes and add garlic and onion powder when I flip them.... The options are endless!!!! THANK U SIR!!! and GOD BLESS AMERICA!
You can use a no salt substitute for sodium sensitive individuals taste just as good but I'd recommend baking over microwave 400° for 20 to 40 minutes check every 10 for golden brown look and crispness on chips .
Can anybody tell me what is the role of vinegar in this ? Yesterday i watched another video and it wasnt with vinegar. It turned out crispy chips. But now i see this with vinegar. Does anybody know it?
MY recommendation after trying this - make sure to use a potato peeler and not a knife. The potatoes must be extremely thin (like those in this video) for best taste.
Also, soak potatoes in vinegar for a long while - at least 30 minutes to get strong vinegar flavor, otherwise it is too weak.
*Consider using a spray/mist bottle to lightly coat finished chips in an outerl layer of vinegar before serving.*
hello, I saw this video the other day and decided to make them. oh my goodness so good!!!! better than store bought and no added fat as I didn't add oil or cooking spray! I soaked the potato chips in the vinegar for about 30 minutes and they were absolutely perfect!! thanks so much for this video 😀
