No Bake Chocolate Biscuit Cake, many of us are familiar with it since childhood, in various shapes and forms. Chocolaty, rich dessert made with crushed biscuits, chocolate syrup and toasted nuts, hardly not to fall in love with it. To print the recipe check the full recipe on my blog: http://www.homecookingadventure.com/recipes/no-bake-chocolate-biscuit-cake Ingredients Makes about 10 servings 28 oz (800g) digestive biscuits, tea biscuits 1 cup (100g) nuts (walnuts, hazelnuts), toasted, slightly chopped Chocolate Syrup 1 cup (200g) sugar 1/2 cup (60g) unsweetened cocoa powder 1 cup (240 ml) water 2/3 cup (150g) butter 1 tsp vanilla extract Chocolate Ganache 1/2 cup (120 g) whipping cream (35% fat) 4 oz (120g) bittersweet chocolate, chopped 1. Break the biscuits (cookies) into small pieces into a large bowl. 2. Heat a non-stick pan over medium high heat and toast walnuts or hazelnuts for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently to toast evenly. Add toasted nuts over the biscuits. 3. Prepare the chocolate syrup. In a medium sauce pan add sugar and cocoa powder. Stir to combine and gradually add water, while stirring to combine well. Add the butter and place over medium heat. Bring to boil for about 7-8 minutes stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add vanilla extract. Set aside to cool slightly for about 10-15 minutes. 4. Pour the syrup over the biscuits and nuts and combine well using a large spatula or spoon. 5. Transfer the mixture into a 9 inch (23 cm) non-stick round cake ware (like the one I’ve used from Delicake) or use a 9 inch (23 cm) springform pan, bottom lined with parchment paper. 6. Press well using the back of the spoon or an offset spatula. 7. Cover and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to 1 hr before preparing the chocolate ganache. 8. Prepare Chocolate Ganache. Place cream into a small saucepan and heat until just begins to boil. 9. Pour hot cream over the chopped chocolate and let sit for 1 minute. Stir until smooth. 10. Pour ganache over the chocolate biscuit cake and refrigerate to set for about 3-4 hours or overnight before serving. 11. Decorate with toasted nuts if desired, cut into slices and serve. Here is what you'll need! PEANUT BUTTER BANANA BROWNIES Servings: 8-10 INGREDIENTS 2 ripe bananas 1 cup sugar ½ cup, plus 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted 1 teaspoon vanilla extract ¾ cup flour ¼ cup, plus 1 tablespoon cocoa powder ⅛ teaspoon salt ½ cup smooth peanut butter PREPARATION Preheat oven to 350°F/180°C. In a bowl, use a fork to mash the bananas. Add the sugar, ½ cup of butter, and vanilla, and whisk until combined. Add the flour, salt, and cocoa powder, and whisk until fully incorporated. Use the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter to grease a 9x9-inch baking tray. Use the remaining 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder to dust every side of the baking tray. Pour batter into prepared baking dish. Use a spoon to add dollops of peanut butter on top of the batter. Use a butter knife to swirl the peanut butter into the brownie batter. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until center no longer jiggles when pan is shaken. Allow brownies to cool completely before cutting. With a knife, carefully make 3 slits in the middle of the hot dog, 3 towards the end of the hot dog, and cut the casing off of the tip of the hot dog to make it look like a finger. Spread ketchup in the hot dog buns, and place the hot dogs. Enjoy! PUMPKIN DEVILED EGGS Serves 6 Ingredients 6 hard-boiled eggs 3 tablespoons dijon mustard ¼ cup mayonnaise 1 teaspoon paprika plus additional for garnish Salt, to taste Pepper, to taste Chives for garnish, finely chopped PREPARATION Peel and slice hard boiled eggs lengthwise. Separate yolks into a separate bowl. Add mustard, mayonnaise, paprika, salt, and pepper to the yolks, and mix thoroughly. Fill a piping bag with the yolk mixture, and pipe into the empty egg whites. Remove dough from package and roll out on lightly floured surface to desired size. 2. Add alternating rows of pepperoni, mozzarella, and salami until dough is covered, leaving 1½ inches of space along the outside of the dough. 3. Chicken Fried Steak Bites Servings: 24 INGREDIENTS 1 pound cubed steak Pinch of salt, per steak Pinch of pepper, per steak Batter 1 egg 1 tablespoon hot sauce 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon pepper 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon baking powder 1½ cups buttermilk Drege 1 cup flour 1 teaspoon salt Gravy 1 tablespoon flour 2 teaspoon salt 2 cups milk PREPARATION Season steak with a pinch of salt and pepper, then cut steak into bite-size pieces. In a large bowl, combine all batter ingredients. Whisk until all ingredients are mixed through. Preheat about an inch of oil to 350˚F/180˚C into a heavy, high-sided skillet or pan. In a medium bowl, add flour and salt. Place steak into the flour, then batter, and then into the flour again. Lower the steak bites into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Cook each side for 4 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer it onto a drying rack and season with salt. Discard the oil on the pan, but leave some oil for the gravy. Easy Fish Tacos Serves 8 (makes 16 tacos) INGREDIENTS Cabbage Slaw 3 cups green cabbage, shredded ½ cup red onion, diced 1 cup sour cream 1 lime, juiced ¼ teaspoon salt 4 tilapia filets ¼ teaspoon ground cayenne ½ teaspoon garlic powder ½ teaspoon cumin ½ teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon pepper Corn tortillas Garnish Cilantro Lime PREPARATION 1. In a large bowl, combine green cabbage, red onion, sour cream, lime juice, and salt. Chill until ready to serve. 2. In a bowl, mix cayenne, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. TIP: #1 eggwhites should be room temp. To create room temp eggs, submerge in warm water for 5 mins. Whip until they form a peak that stands upright. Think Seattle Space needle. Then add the food coloring. TIP#2 Color does fade as it cooks, so do a shade or two darker than you want them to be. TIP#3 Sift almond flour, and powdered sugar. What remains will be the larger lumps of almond pieces. Just discard those, or use them to snack on :) You want a really fine powder mixture to create a smooth and pretty on top to your cookie. Fold flour/sugar mixture into the egg white mixture. TIP#4 This is where all your hard work can really go wrong. Under mix and your macaroons will be lumpy and cracked when the bake with no feet, over mix and your macaroons will be flat and won't have feet, the mark of a well-made macaron. In my experience 65-75 turns of your spatula when folding is about the right amount of time. But again, it can be tricky, depends on how strong you are, Ha! So it can take a few tries to get it right. But when you do, the trumpets will blare and you will feel SO accomplished! Transfer batter to a pastry bag. Pipe out 1 inch rounds on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. TIP#5: tap the pan hard at least 2-3 times to release the air bubbles. This will prevent the tops of your macaroons from cracking. TIP#6 Let them sit out for 20-30 mins, or up to an hour if you want. This will allow them time to dry out a bit before hitting the hot oven. They should be "tacky" to the touch, but not stick to your fingertips. This is another important step to assuring your macarons develop feet! When they dry out they can't spread out in the oven, and are forced to rise up. That's what creates the feet! Bake for 20 mins. DO NOT UNDER BAKE, even if they look done! Otherwise they will stick to your tray. Meanwhile mix the buttercream. Whip butter with an electric mixer until pale and fluffy. Slowly add sugar. Then place sieve on top of a bowl the same size. Work raspberries through the sieve with a spatula, pushing them through, mashing them around until you extract their juice. You want 3 tablespoons of juice. Add juice to buttercream, and whip until combined. Transfer to a pastry bag, fitted with a small tip (about ¼ " in diameter) Reverse cookie shells on their backs, and pipe a small mound of filling on one of them. Top with the other shell et Voila! Recipe: Start with 4 or 5 long potatoes Cut of the ends and cut off the sides to make the potatoes square but long. Cut the potato in slices about 1/8 inch thick then lay those slices flat and cut strips the same thickness so your fries are the same size as McDonald's. Soak in cold water for 5 minutes then drain on a paper towel. In a pot put enough water to cover the fries when laid out in a big flat dish. Stir in corn syrup and sugar as the water comes to a boil. I used 1/2 cup corn syrup and 1/2 cup white sugar for 12 cups of water. (adjust accordingly) Once the sugar is dissolved and the water reaches a boil "turn off the heat" and drop in the fries. Let them soak for 10 minutes then drain on paper towels. Now place the fries in the freezer for 20 minutes. Heat your oil to 350 degrees. (I used canola oil) drop in the fries and deep fry them for 2 minutes only. Put then on a tray and let cool for 10 minutes. Drop them back in the oil for 7 minutes. When they come out of the fryer lay the fries out and dust them with salt. Toss then a bit... and Enjoy! Hope you subscribe to our channel! Thanks!
