The secret ingredient is frozen bananas! I make Banana Chocolate Chip, Banana Peanut Butter, and Honey Cinnamon Banana in this episode. It's a great frozen summer snack or dessert, and it's a healthy alternative to ice cream, dairy-free, gluten free, and vegan.

Magical 1-Ingredient "Ice Cream" Recipe made with Bananas
4 ripe bananas
Assorted mix-ins (optional) like chopped chocolate, cinnamon, honey, peanut butter, etc.
Peel and slice the bananas into thin rounds, then freeze for at least three hours. Place in a blender or food processor and puree completely until no chunks remain, and it's creamy and smooth. Enjoy as is, or mix in any other ingredients you desire. If you want a firmer consistency, freeze for an additional hour. Enjoy!
Fifteen Spatulas is a weekly cooking video series sharing simple recipes from scratch. The purpose is to show cooks of all levels that cooking from scratch is much easier than they may think.
+Kenza ROMANE I filmed this before he published his video (I've been in England over the past couple weeks) so it's 100% coincidence!!! I saw his video though and laughed. This method has been well known for several years, and I believe was originally written and made popular by someone from The Kitchn. It's definitely in their cookbook.
I know this is a silly question but does this taste literally like banana or only slightly like bananas? Lol
My son doesn't like bananas and I want to try this with him but if it's obvious that it's banana may not work ;)
+Gggg The soft-serve style directly from the food processor tastes less banana-y than the re-frozen one, imo. It does taste like banana, but if you add some fun ingredients I think it might not be too noticeable.
+Jenn Southwell Well I guess any frozen fruit would do. You know the Disneyland dole whip? Well you blend frozen pineapples and some kind of milk/cream/coconut milk and it's absolutely delicious. I also blend frozen fruit to make any flavoured sorbet. Even avocados will do.
